Three of our Liberation networks have been published this week. So far, the groups available to students are as followed:

 

LGBT+ Liberation

 

Disabled Students Liberation

 

Women’s Liberation

 

The Students’ Union is looking for passionate people who are willing to lead and support the new liberation networks. Leaders will have access to the group on the website so that they can make updates; they will also run a private social media group. There can be more than one leader, but leaders must split tasks between them fairly.

 

Tasks of a Leader

 

Collect email addresses of all members of the network for emailing list and ensure that information is sent out monthly.

Accept members into the private group and start conversations to spark conversation between members.

Feedback ideas for campaigns and events to the students’ union, so they can help facilitate and make these plans a reality.

Share interesting and relatable articles, videos, etc. to all members, to ensure they are updated on information that may be helpful to the network.

Inform allies on how they can help support the network and update them on events/campaigns they can join in with.

If you come across any educational material regarding the network, share a blog on the students’ union website for all to see.

 

The main function of the role is to support all members, remove anyone who does not behave appropriately or in line with the values of the students’ union and help with the smooth running of networks.
