Step up to speak out

Tuesday 27-07-2021 - 09:00

We’ve reopened applications for three of our Student Voice Representative positions:

  • Institute of Education & Humanities, Swansea
  • Institute of Management & Health, Carmarthen
  • Wales Institute of Science & Art, Cardiff

Student Voice Reps (SVRs) are a vital part of the academic representation structure for students. They sit on Institute Boards, alongside senior Institute staff such as the Head of Institute, Assistant Deans and Academic Discipline Directors, to ensure that students’ views are heard and acted on. Student representation at this high level is essential given the impact that decisions made here can have on thousands of students. If you are a continuing student on a course relevant to one of the vacant SVR positions, please do consider applying, so that students like you will have their voices heard!

This role would be a great fit for you if:

  • You are passionate about students getting the university experience they want and deserve.
  • You are open to engaging with students with diverse experiences.
  • You want to develop your skills and gain valuable experience to enhance your employability.
  • You can commit to dedicating time regularly to the role.

As a SVR you’ll have access to training and development opportunities, and you’ll be supported continuously by SU staff. You will have the chance to network with other student representatives and you will learn more about how the University works. This is a great opportunity to make your mark and change students’ experiences for the better.

So, could you step up to speak out as a Student Voice Rep? Find out more about the role and how to apply on our jobs board.
