Hey there, we're your Students' Union and we're over the moon to meet you. You're about to blast off on your next big adventure - university. We're a team of friendly faces here to help you make the most of your time as a student.

Welcome is our Freshers. To celebrate your arrival at UWTSD, we're running events across all our campuses. This year's theme is inspired by space and aliens - so embrace the weirdness 🛸

Think Welcome isn't for you? Think again! We've got something for everyone - from big nights out to chilled-out get-togethers, and most of our events are free too. Check out your campus line-up below. Book your place, and start making the most of the start of university.

Greetings, Studentkind

Hey there, it's Taya, Lowri, and Nat here - and together, we're your Presidents for 2023/24. We're excited to meet you all and work with you to make the student experience at UWTSD the best it can be. We cannot wait for Welcome - it's one of our favourite times of the year. Check out the events, and we'll see you later in September.

We're the official Welcome

As the students' union for UWTSD, we run the official Welcome Week - but why does this matter? We put your student experience first, whereas others put profit first. We want to make sure you have the best welcome to student life possible; we've compared our official events against the unofficial ones below.

Our Official
Events 👽

  • All our events are FREE
  • Chance to meet your fellow students
  • Go to the official Welcome Fair
  • Get to know your campus
  • Students' safety is a priority

Unofficial
Events 🤮

  • Often expensive and over-hyped
  • Usually poor value for money
  • You'll most likely meet fewer new students
  • Usually open to anyone and everyone
  • Profits most likely go to the business

What to expect at Welcome

Unforgettable memories, dancing until the early hours, chilled times vibing, laughing so much your stomach hurts, making lifelong friends - it all starts now. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so rather than go on and on, check out our Welcome photo album to see what we've done before.

We can't wait to meet you

This has to be our favourite time of the year - all the energy and excitement, meeting the new faces and catching up with the returning ones - we cannot wait for Weclome.

Until then, give us a follow on Instagram and TikTok, and feel free to drop us a comment or message.
