Running for: Gender Identity Officer

Hello, my name is Elwyn Jones. I am running for Lampeter’s Gender Identity Officer, I have currently been the Gender Officer for the current academic year. I am running for this position again as I feel like there is more I can still achieve for our Trans and Non-Binary students of UWTSD. If elected I will be campaigning for the following: Campaign for the addition of gender-neutral toilets in addition to the current single gendered toilets on campus as with the increasing number of non-binary students attending UWTSD I feel as this would add to their comfort while on campus. Secondly, I would campaign and organise periodic workshops with the intention of providing life skills for trans and non-binary student, there would potentially include topics such as makeup, styling, presentation safety and self-advocacy. Also, I will be advocating for sanitary products to be placed in all toilets, this is because with these products are needed by all people and having them be separate can be invalidating to students. My final pledge will be to a resource for trans and non-binary students, ensuring they can find relevant advice and support without hassle. Please make sure you vote during 04/03-07/03.
