We are a democratic organisation and run different types of councils and meetings to ensure the thoughts and opinions of our members are effectively communicated with us and the University.
For day-to-day matters, there is the Executive Committee, which is made up of your Union Presidents and the Students' Union's Senior Management Team. It meets monthly to oversee the day-to-day issues of the organisation, approve club and society applications and coordinate the work of the Students' Union.
These councils discuss campus affairs and are made up of our Union Presidents, Part-time Officers, Student Voice Reps and Student Trustees - any student is welcome to attend. This is where the student body can talk about issues affecting them, meet their elected officers, and approve or reject any student ideas submitted.
Union Council is the place where ideas, campaigns and policies that affect all students are discussed and decisions are made on behalf of the Students’ Union as a whole. It is made up of 5 representatives elected from each Campus Council and the Full-Time Officers and is chaired by the Union Chairperson.
This is a major meeting for us and it happens once a year. You'll have a chance to review our activity, ask the officers direct questions and share your ideas on how you think we can make it better. We'll present our annual financial accounts and give you an opportunity to approve our affiliations. We'll share plans for the coming year, let you know about some key dates, and ask for your thoughts.
