Running for: Lampeter Campus President

Hello, my name is Nathan Topham, I’m running for Lampeter Campus president. Here, I’ll aim to establish my wishes to achieve should I be elected as your student representative. One measure I wish to implement is greater access to English/Welsh language courses for those whose primary language is not English. This would be a great help for some of the academically difficult language that international students encounter during their course.  

Bursary services are not well advertised to students, course costs such as books do have reimbursement for them although few know of this. I would work to make this fact well known.  

Postgraduate students feel isolated among undergraduates as events don’t appeal to them, more events during summer and more daytime/casual events would make postgraduates feel welcomed into student life. More trips for students without travel opportunities would increase enjoyment of living alone, such as to coastal towns, national landmarks, and heritage sites.  

I’d advocate for the improvement of OldBar facilities in Lampeter, as well as the potential increased opening hours of it AND of the Lampeter library (for Sunday deadlines to be less stressful). Please make sure you go out and vote on election week (March 4th- March 7th).
