My name is Shaun Cheatle, and I am running for Lampeter Campus President.   

I have previously been involved in the student's union with the following positions:   

 

• Part-time Sports Officer 2023/24  
• Secretary of Lampeter Rugby 2021/22   
• Treasurer and Vice-captain of Netball 2021/22  
•  Secretary of Lampeter Football Society 2021/22  

 

I am deeply committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant campus community; I pledge to prioritize the empowerment of student societies and refresh our multi-faith room. Together, let us work towards creating a campus environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to pursue their passions and beliefs.  

 

1. Empowering Student Societies:  

• Improve access to funding for student societies by establishing transparent and streamlined processes for grant applications and financial allocations.  
• Advocate for creating a dedicated fund to support student-led initiatives, events, and projects, ensuring that societies have the resources they need to thrive.  
• Collaborate with the university administration to provide societies with greater access to campus facilities, including meeting rooms, event spaces, and equipment, enabling them to organize impactful and engaging activities.  

 

2. Enhancing Multi-Faith Facilities:  

• Prioritize the enhancement of the multi-faith room on campus to recreate a welcoming and inclusive space for students of all faiths and beliefs.
