May Campus Councils
The end of the academic year is fast approaching, which means it's time for our final round of Campus Councils of the year!
Campus Councils are a great opportunity to find out more about what your presidents have achieved, and what they've been up to around campus. We'll go over what your Part Time Officers have been up to across your campus, giving you an opportunity to find out a bit more about your campus community. Campus Councils are also a great opportunity for you to bring any questions, concerns or requests to the attention of the Students' Union. If you want to raise anything or ask your president questions about their campaigns, pop along and chat to us during the Q&A at the end.
Why do we do them?
Campus Councils are an important step in ensuring that the Students' Union stays accountable to the students it represents. Campus Councils are an opportunity for students to talk to their student representatives and hold them accountable for delivering their manifestos. You'll get a better idea of what your reps are doing to advocate for the student body, the projects that they're working on, and the progress that they've made. Campus Councils are also an opportunity for students to submit ideas to the council. There, they'll be voted on and moved on to the AGM if they're successful.
How do they work?
The agenda will be published in advance of the Campus Council. This will detail exactly what will be discussed during the meeting. During the council, your Campus President, Part Time Officers, and Student Voice Reps will give an update on the kind of things they've been working on, and what plans they have. After that, we'll vote on any motions or other items on the agenda. After that, there will be an opportunity for students to ask any questions that they might have.
