To our incoming and returning students, we can’t wait for you to join us in September! We’ve put together a guide of the top 10 things to do on and around campus, we’ll be introducing you to some of the must-see places that make Swansea iconic. Discover your community and city this welcome!

 

Wind Street & Kingsway

The hub of Swansea night life. On Wind Street there is everything you need for an amazing night out. The Kingsway is home to one of the most popular student venues, Sin City (In 2015, the Swansea City won the Purple Flag Award for being the safest clubbing experience in the UK and Northern Ireland).

 

Joe’s Ice Cream

Famous in Swansea, Joe’s Ice Cream supplies the best high quality ice cream, even the Royal Family have given its seal of approval! Located on St Helens Road, as well as Mumbles, ideal if you are going for a walk along Swansea Bay.

 

The Mumbles

With its idyllic beaches, superb coastal paths and gourmet restaurants, Mumbles is without doubt one Swansea’s top attractions. Go and visit the Mumbles Pier, it’s one of Swansea`s oldest and most famous landmarks. There is something here for everyone from the Penny Arcade to our miniature Bowling alleys & state of the art 6D simulation ride.

A fun, healthy and sustainable way to get around! Download the app, pick up a bike from one of the station points around Swansea or Mumbles and get out for ride!

 

Oxford Street & The Quadrant

There are a wide range of shops available throughout Swansea. Clothing shops include H&M, Superdry, Zara, NewLook, Animal. For your student essentials you have Wilkinsons, Boots, Tescos, plus much more…

 

Liberty Stadium

Calling all Swansea City Football fans! This is a fantastic stadium with an equally fantastic atmosphere. The Liberty Stadium is also the home to the Ospreys Rugby Club. This venue also plays host to amazing artists.

 

Tenpin Swansea (Parc Tawe)

Tenpin offers a great location for some bowling fun. If you are with friends or family, Tenpin Swansea is full of activities such as arcades, cosmic bowling and you can refuel yourselves after bowling from ‘The Lanes’ menu and the fully licensed bar which also shows Sky Sports.

 

Swansea Marina

This area of Swansea is a must see! Swansea Marina is situated in the award-winning Maritime Quarter area of Swansea City. There are also some great bars and restaurants down there!

 

Uplands Diner

Ever seen the television show Man Vs Food? Well then you must visit this place! Uplands Diner is home of the famous Beast and the Mega Beast breakfast challenges! Situated in the heart of the Uplands in Swansea.

 

The LC

Go and explore Wales’s biggest indoor water park, and Swansea’s most state-of -the-art gym. Offering activities, fitness classes and much more. Remember the LC when you’re stressed out with exams and assignments as they have a state in the art spa which really helps you unwind.
