TSDSU Birmingham Update
On Tuesday 30th April, TSDSU will be making another visit to the Student Council on our Birmingham Campus to support the amazing work of their dedicated Student Reps and students.

This latest visit builds on the work already done by UWTSD Birmingham and TSDSU to build an effective Student Rep system and design a relationship which works for the group of students there, away from our permanent locations in Carmarthen, Swansea and Lampeter.
When we first visited Birmingham, we were worried about being so far away from a brand-new campus with very different student demographics to our Wales campuses, however, despite the challenges, our Birmingham students have continually impressed. They have gone above and beyond with Raising and Giving efforts, organising their own Macmillan Coffee Mornings, tree planting events in Sparkhill Park and going as far as surprising academic staff with birthday cakes!

The students have also elected four members of an executive committee, who will be attending our Part Time Officer Conference later next month in Carmarthen where we look forward to seeing them present about their experiences as students in UWTSD Birmingham, to help give an insight into what their experience has been for our other students.
Our April meeting will also be the start of the handover for our Birmingham, London and Cardiff students from me as outgoing Group President to Becky, your Group-President 2019-20.
It’s been a real pleasure helping to look after students from Birmingham, London and Cardiff as well as Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea and one of the main reasons I chose to run for Group President twice, so thank you to all of the amazing and dedicated students I’ve met from each of the ‘satellite’ sites, and I’m sure you’re in safe hands for the next academic year!
