Our Sabbatical Officers are the Presidents of the Students’ Union. They are paid a salary and work full-time to help lead the Union’s activities and represent their students to the Union and University. We’re looking for 4 Sabbatical Officers for 2022/23. One for Carmarthen, Lampeter, and Swansea, as well as a Group President representing all students at UWTSD and in particular students in Birmingham, Cardiff and London.

What does a Sabbatical Officer do?

• They help plan campaigns, events, and activities for their students and campus.
• They are a point of contact and help share the opinions and concerns of students.
• They attend Union and University meetings.
• They work with our other student representatives. 
• Work to achieve their manifesto objectives.

Why would you want to be a Sabbatical Officer?

• You’ll gain skills in project planning, organisation, public speaking and more.
• You’ll gain professional experience working in a charity and higher education.
• You’ll gain Trustee Board experience.
• You get to represent 1000s of students.
• It’s a paid role.
• You’ll help make the university experience better for students. 

Time Commitment

Sabbatical Officers work full-time. You’ll need to either take a year out from your studies or take on the role immediately after completing your degree. It begins in June.

Who can apply?

Group President

Any UWTSD Student can nominate themselves.

Carmarthen Campus President

Only students who study on our Carmarthen Campus can nominate themselves.

Lampeter Campus President

Only students who study on our Lampeter Campus can nominate themselves.

Swansea Campus President

Only students who study on our Swansea Campus can nominate themselves.

If you're interested in one of these roles, you'll need to apply by nominating yourself using the Nomination Form. By completing the form, you'll be in with a chance of becoming a candidate and getting elected into the role by students voting in our Election.
