What is a Union Chairperson and what do they do?

The Union Chairperson role chairs the Students’ Union Annual General Meeting and each meeting of the Union Council. They keep our debates fair and productive – and are able to manage heated discussions. 

 

What does a Union Chairperson do?

  • They chair our Annual General Meeting and Union Councils to make sure debate is fair and productive.

Why would you want to be a Union Chairperson?

  • You’ll gain experience chairing meetings

Time Commitment

The Union Chairperson needs to attend our Annual General Meeting and Union Councils.

Who can apply?

Any UWTSD student can nominate.

If you're interested in one of these roles, you'll need to apply by nominating yourself using the Nomination Form. By completing the form, you'll be in with a chance of becoming a candidate and getting elected into the role by students voting in our Election.
