We have received a beautiful poem submission from Dru Sutherland for Black History Month about their mom who is a Black woman who inspires them.
In a world full of wonders and dreams,
There's one person who's more than she seems.
She's my guiding light, my rock, my core,
The one who inspires me forevermore.
Her love is a river that never runs dry,
Her strength is a mountain that touches the sky.
She's a beacon of hope, a source of grace,
With a smile that brightens up any space.
Through life's trials and challenges, she stands tall,
With unwavering faith, she conquers them all.
Her resilience and courage never cease,
She's the embodiment of inner peace.
She teaches me kindness, compassion, and care,
To always lend a hand and always be there.
Her selflessness and warmth touch every soul,
Making the world a better place, making it whole.
Her wisdom is a treasure, a guiding star,
She's taught me to dream big and reach far.
With her unconditional love, she's shown,
That I can achieve anything, I've grown.
She's my cheerleader, my confidant, my friend,
Her love and support have no end.
She's the epitome of strength and grace,
A true inspiration, in every embrace.
So here's to my mom, my guiding light,
The one who inspires me day and night.
I'm grateful for her love, her unwavering care,
For she's the one who's always there.
Through her, I've learned to be the best I can be,
To face life's challenges with bravery.
She's my hero, my role model, my guide,
Forever grateful to have her by my side.
