Following a break in our Advice Service over the winter period, the Advice Service team are back and ready to support students.
In the new year, our advisors are working hard to ensure that every campus has an in-person event to give student the opportunity to talk to an advisor and understand what the Students’ Union advice service can do for them
‘What do I do if I become unwell and am not able to submit my work?’
‘Our assignment brief doesn’t align with what our lecturer told us to expect’
‘I don’t know who to raise course issues with’
If you’re having any of these thoughts, pop down for a chat (or if you just fancy a free fidget spinner and pack of love hearts!)
On the week commencing the 12th of January we will be supporting our Birmingham students during the release of results period.
Our Welsh campuses will each be having their own pop-ups.

Our London Advisor will also be on campus to give information and advice to students in February.
If you see us on any of our campuses at any time, come up and say hi. We are usually the people in purple!
We appreciate that inductions were a while ago, so below we have provided a brief overview of what your advice service can offer to you.
Academic Appeals
What is an academic appeal? How would I know if I need to submit one? Is there a time limit on submitting an academic appeal? All of these questions, and more, are answered on our Advice & Grades page.

Extenuating Circumstances
What should you do if you are going through unexpected circumstances which will have an impact on an upcoming assignment? We are here to help guide you through the process of informing the university of your circumstances, including the evidence you will need to obtain. Learn more about extenuating circumstances and what you can expect from the process through the link below.

With the days getting colder and nights growing longer, it is not uncommon for people to struggle. Here is some Advice from our staff about what helps them to keep going through the winter as we wait for spring to arrive.
I always try and get a walk in while it's still light and then the darkness doesn't feel so consuming but also the addition of soft lighting helps like fairy lights

It is always good to try and have something to look forward to, and winter is the season that people put their tiny dogs in tiny coats. Who doesn’t love a dog in a coat?
