Black Students' Officer

Hi, I’m Claire Mugabo, I’m an undergrad acting student in Carmarthen campus running for black student officer. I would love to see change constantly happening around me to improve the world we live.

Unfortunately, I see a lot ‘one step forward and two steps back’. I want to make a change as I’m becoming more aware of the issues black people and POC face every day. When I saw the post for a black student officer, I knew it was a great opportunity for me to help by making a change right in my own university hopefully with the help and support of others.

What I hope to achieve:

• To make black history month more prominent throughout campus by introducing historical figures or current figures everyday and raising awareness about a current issue every week.
• To introduce black authors to the library 
• I hope to make blacks peoples methods and teachings apart of the curriculum in Carmarthen
