Hi everyone, it's Matt from the SU here, and I'm going to run through the entire nomination process.
Telling you everything that you need to do for a successful nomination - let's get to it.
Before we get started, there are a few things you need to have ready.
Number one - you want to know the position you're nominating yourself for.
Number two - you want to know how you want your name to appear on the ballot paper.
Number three - you'll want a photo of yourself ready for upload and a copy of your manifesto ready to paste into your nomination submission.
Submitting a photo or manifesto is optional.
I'm starting off on our nominations web page - I have read all the details and I know exactly the position I want to nominate myself for.
To start the process, I need to click the purple nominate yourself button.
This takes us to the nomination portal - this is the important bit - you must be logged in using your student email
address.
When I arrive at the nominations portal, I will see a full list of all the positions I can nominate myself for.
In this example, I'm going to apply for the Campus President role - all I need to do is click the purple submit button.
This loads up the nomination form for the role. This page outlines the position title and there's a toggle for the responsibilities. For now, I'm going to start filling out the details
Firstly, I'm going to change how my name appears on the ballot paper - I want it to appear as Matt instead of Matthew. To do that, I simply type over the content.
Next, I have the option of uploading a photo myself. I'm going to select my photo using the choose chose file upload tool.
I find the photo of myself I want to upload and click open. Then I'm going to scroll down to the Manifesto section this is where I need to paste my Manifesto - paying close attention to the word count.
Finally, I'm going to check everything over one last time to make sure that I am happy - I'm happy with how my name appears on the ballot paper, I've uploaded my picture, and I've added my Manifesto.
Once I've done that, all I need to do is click the submit nomination button - and that's it my nomination has been submitted.
A team member will let me know if my nomination has been successful via email.
