Greetings from your SU

Intro time - we're your Students' Union - but you can call us the SU for short. We're a charity and a team of student-elected officers and staff on a mission to help you make the most of your time at uni.

We're the people in purple bringing the fun - uni is more than just studies - and not only do we run Welcome, but we also put on events and trips over the year, help students run their clubs and societies, run the on-campus bars and clubs, give free advice if you need it, and manage the student elections and representatives.

You're one of our members - that's quite a bit to take in. Know that once enrolled as a UWTSD student, you're automatically one of our members for free!

Message from your Presidents

Hey there, it's Maria, Rhobyn, and Nat here - and together, we're your Presidents for 2024/25. We're excited to meet you all and work with you to make the student experience at UWTSD the best it can be. We cannot wait for Welcome - it's one of our favourite times of the year. Your Membership Benefits 🛸

As a student at UWTSD, you are automatically one of our members. We're your Students' Union, membership is completely free and automatic once you're enrolled - you don't have to stress about any extra paperwork. As a member, you get to enjoy loads of benefits, here are a few of the highlights:

We're the official Welcome

As the students' union for UWTSD, we run the official Welcome - but why does this matter? We put your student experience first, whereas others put profit first. We want to make sure you have the best welcome to student life possible; we've compared our official events against the unofficial ones below.

How do I attend an event?

Some events you can just turn to and others you'll need to book a ticket for - visit the event's webpage to see if you need to book a ticket.

I'm a continuing student, can I come?

Yes, you can! Welcome events are for all UWTSD students - whether you're in your first year or your last. 

Do I need to sign up for an event with a student email?

No, you don't. You can use any email, but we may ask to see proof of student status - this can be your student card.

I can't sign up for an event - the website's not working

Don't worry, just drop us an email at union@uwtsd.ac.uk and we'll get it sorted.

I have accessibility requirements - can I still come?

We aim to make all our events as inclusive as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about an event and your needs, please email union@uwtsd.ac.uk.
