Being a Trustee of a Charity is a rare opportunity that makes a real difference and looks mighty impressive on your CV. We're looking for two students to join our Board as Student Trustees from June 2026 to June 2027, and help guide and oversee the development and performance of our organisation.
Our Trustee Board exists to ensure that the Students’ Union is running properly, looking after its resources and people and working for the benefit of students at UWTSD. Student Trustees will join our Board to help guide and shape the work of the organisation, to monitor its performance and legal compliance and help it plan effectively.
We are an independent charity that works closely with the university to make sure things are done in the best interest of our members. Our Board of Trustees is a team of skilled people who provide leadership, contribute their skills, make high-level decisions, and ensure the Union runs legally. We want our Board to reflect the diversity of our students - we welcome applications from all those at UWTSD, no matter where or how you study.
Student Trustees bring new ideas and fresh opinions to the Board; in return, they will receive comprehensive training and will have great experience for their CV and future employment interviews.
As a Trustee, you'll need to attend at least four Board meetings and several sub-committee meetings per academic year – some of these you can attend digitally. If you are required to travel to attend in person, we will cover travel costs.
Applying is easy - it's all done with our online application form and the deadline to apply is 23:59 on Sunday, 17 May 2026. Remember, being a Trustee has legal responsibilities and eligibility requirements - these are outlined in the role description - make sure you download and read it.
