Clearing is a way loads of students find their place at university. You can use clearing to find places on course if you; haven’t found a place yet, changed your mind about the course you've applied for, or if you just missed out on those required grades.
No university wants half-filled courses, so they use Clearing to fill spaces they may have left on courses. This does mean that full courses may not be listed. Clearing is open now and you can find a list of courses with spaces on UCAS. Clearing is busiest around A-Level results day and continues right up until mid-September. We’ll quickly run through the process, and there are lots of really useful links at the bottom of this blog. So be sure to check them out.
Things may seem a little daunting right now, but don’t stress; the Clearing process is quite simple.
Applying is done using UCAS Track; you still input all your information, except at the end you don’t enter your course choices.
Once you’ve submitted your application you’ll then receive an email with your Clearing Number.
The email will also contain information on how to ask for advice, searching for vacancies and how to contact universities.
You can search for course information online at uwtsd.ac.uk/clearing or by calling our Clearing hotline 0333 016 4386.
The Clearing Advisors will be there to answer any questions you have, and help go through your application, making sure you know what you need to do, and whether you have a place.
If your application is successful and you will have a verbal offer from UWTSD, you can add that course choice in UCAS Track.
