What your sabbatical officers have asked for and achieved

All students will have received an email from the university explaining that teaching will remain online until Easter which has come from the Welsh Government.

What the university has agreed to so far:

  • Rent rebates for those in university owned halls of residence who have not returned. The university has created FAQs on this available here.
  • A COVID Response fund to provide support to students through these difficult times. More information on this fund and how to access it will come soon. Once available from the university we’ll share on our social media to support the university letting you know it’s here.
  • Continued support through the university’s health and wellbeing initiatives
  • An Academic Safety Net for all students with a clear video explaining what it means.

We’re actively working with the university to understand if any programmes can return and asking that it be communicated as soon as possible when they know more. If you can think of other things that would support your experience please email the sabbatical officers who can continue to ensure your voice is heard.

All the work the university is doing in partnership with us is brilliant, however students and universities have been put in difficult positions by government policy.
