Is my work good enough to hand in?

Wednesday 06-04-2022 - 10:52

  • Did you write it yourself?
  • Did you follow the instructions for the assignment?
  • Did you attend most of your classes (and pay attention)?
  • Did you do the reading?
  • Did you follow the rules on referencing?
  • Did you check your work for mistakes?

If you answered ‘yes’ to all of the above – then yes, your work is probably good enough to hand in 😊

Don’t let perfectionism stop you passing!

A 40 is better than a 0 – which is what you’ll get if you don’t hand it in.

If you answered ‘no’ to any of the above – help is at hand:

You can apply for Extenuating Circumstances if you think you’ll be up to 1 week late, or if you think you won’t be able to hand it in at all. You can do this up to 3 weeks after the deadline. You’ll need to provide evidence to support your claim.

You can join online Study Skills Support sessions, on topics including essay writing and referencing.

And you can always ask your lecturers for advice. They’ve been in the same boat as you – they know how hard it can be to write those first few University essays.

Also – don’t even think about buying an essay. That’s a terrible idea, which could even get you expelled from university or put you in danger of being harassed and blackmailed by the seller.
