Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 runs from Monday, 12 May to Sunday, 18 May. This year's theme is "community", and leading the project this year is Natalie, with activities happening across campuses.
"Raising awareness of mental health support is important to me as during my time at university there were times where I really struggled with my mental health - struggling with imposter syndrome and was forever thinking I wasn't good enough and had to really work on managing my stress, anxiety, depression and mindset during assessment submission periods.
When I put myself forward for the role of Swansea Campus President, I made a promise to myself that I would work hard to ensure that nobody would ever feel alone through their struggles. Over the past years, I've introduced initiatives like the Wellbeing QR stickers on every campus, regular Natter with Nat drop-ins, and I'm currently working on a well-being signposting project, all these projects had the aim of making it as accessible as possible for our students to seek the support that they need and to receive that support at the earliest possible opportunity".

13:00 - 16:00, Tuesday 13 May
Look After Your Mate is an interactive workshop designed to help students who may be supporting a friend going through mental health difficulties, or for those who would like to know more about mental health. All training is delivered by the UWTSD Wellbeing team.
10:00 - 12:00, Wednesday 14 May
Explore the causes and impacts of biases, learn safe and effective strategies to challenge discriminatory behaviours, and build confidence in responding to difficult situations. This session will also highlight how the Bystander approach aligns with University procedures to foster a more inclusive and supportive community. All training is delivered by the UWTSD Wellbeing team.
We'll be running mindful activities between 11:00 - 13:00 on Tuesday, 13 May in Swansea (IQ and Dynevor), Birmingham (Louisa House), and Carmarthen (Cwad). Activities on each campus will be slightly different, from mindful colouring and clay crafts, to message making, and freebies.
