🎄 Treemendous Effort from UWTSD.

Students and staff at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David are spreading the festive cheer by generously donating gifts to children through the Mr X Christmas Appeal.

In its 61st year, the Mr X Christmas Appeal aims to ensure that every child wakes up to a present on Christmas morning.

The appeal was started by Tom Bravin – a local retail manager who anonymously delivered thousands of presents to youngsters in the Swansea area. Known as Mr X, Tom Bravin’s identity was revealed after he passed away in March 2016.

Today, his work continues across the south-west Wales region, with many kind individuals and organisations donating gifts, including UWTSD.

Even with everything 2020 has thrown at us, students and staff are still committed to sharing joy and kindness, with the team at Mr X saying: "Where would we be without UWTSD? You have been taking part for quite a few years now."

This year, students and staff have contributed to gifts for 150 children. Georgia (Carmarthen Campus President) and Laura (Student Engagement Assistant for Lampeter) coordinated the appeal at UWTSD.

Georgia and Laura said:
"We'd personally love to thank every single person who got involved, whether it was by buying a gift or sharing our posts out. It helped to make such a difference to 150 children’s Christmas who may not have previously received presents, especially during the current circumstances; so thank you to everyone, no matter how big or small the gift is, it’s helped make a massive difference"
