TSDSU won the 'most improved' award at last night's national union of students Green Impact UK awards evening.

Green Impact is NUS' sustainability quality mark and is ten years old this year. Over the past year TSDSU has worked hard to make the Union greener and to create opportunities for students to get involved in green projects and campaigns. Projects such as Switch Off and Blackout have been a huge success and contributed to the Union achieving the Silver award this year, having previously been working towards accreditation.

TSDSU Chief Executive, Rhys Dart, said "we are delighted to win this national award, which is recognition for a lot of hard work from within the SU team. We are lucky to be part of a University which has a strong belief in sustainability and we have benefitted from working in partnership with the University's INSPIRE initiative and student interns. We are now determined that next year we'll secure a Gold Award  rating for the first time."
