Hello, all Birmingham students.

 

Have you ever heard of "First Dates"? It's a television show which sets people up on blind dates and helps them find love.

 

The Students' Union has taken their own take on the show and it's called 'First Mates'! We know the pandemic has affected the way you've received your university education and it has absolutely made it harder to make friends and socialise. 

 

Join us on Teams on the 5th of February 2021 at 5 pm, this is a great opportunity for you to make friends and find people to socialise with inside and outside of university life. 

 

Similar to the show "First Dates", there will be an element of blind dating. Although this is purely to make friends instead, we will put you into break out rooms on Teams with a few other people and this is where you will get a chance to live chat with people you may not know and ask questions to get to know each other. The event will allow you to mate date other university students and some staff from the students' union. 

 

Get to know each other from more than 2 metres away and make friends that one day you may be able to meet in person without a mask.

 

Let's face it, making friends as an adult can be a lot harder than when you were a small child. Sign up and enjoy socialising from a safe distance in the comfort of your own home!
