Your Cardiff and Swansea President Rainna is coming to the end of her term in office at the Students’ Union.
Rainna has done a few Make and Mingle sessions with you, all intended as an opportunity to bring students together, to share culture, celebrations and spread awareness.
For her last Make and Mingle in Swansea, Rainna will be running her session to support Mental Health Awareness Week.
With the Summer Ball coming up, this creative session is the perfect escape where you can socialise, unwind, and try something new. You’ll have the chance to decorate your own masquerade mask ready to wear at the Swansea Summer Ball, making sure your look for the night is unique and personal.
The session is also about wellbeing and self-expression. Sometimes when life feels overwhelming, it can feel like we’re putting on a mask just to get through the day. That’s a normal coping mechanism, and we all show different sides of ourselves in different situations. Through this activity, we want to create a space where students can relax, connect with others, and learn about helpful wellbeing support and signposting available if you ever need it.
By decorating your mask, you can turn the traditional idea of a masquerade into something positive, creating a mask that reflects you, your style, and your personality. When you wear it at the ball, it can be a reminder that it’s okay to ask for support when you need it, and that you’re free to be yourself—with or without the mask.
Your wellbeing matters. If you need support, the Students' Union Advice team is here to help—visit the Advice page to learn more about the support available.
You can also contact the University's HWB team or check out the Student Services page. If you’re worried about yourself or someone else, please remember you can submit a CFC form to request support.
