Fancy a thrifting trip to Penarth?

Join us as we hop on the train together and head to one of our favourite lesser-known spots for some charity shopping! With 8 charity shops all within a 5-minute walk, it's the perfect place to hunt for hidden gems.

Thrifting is a fun, affordable, and sustainable way to shop. Buying second hand helps reduce waste, gives pre-loved items a new home, and you never know what you'll discover. You might even find something you've forgotten to bring with you from home!

The Plan:

• Meet SU staff at Cardiff Queen Street train station before departure. We'll travel to Penarth together, usually departing from Platform 2 or 3.
• You will buy your train ticket. Anytime Day Return is £5 without a railcard and £3.30 with a railcard.
• Once we arrive, we'll walk to the spot where all the charity shops are.
• Feel free to shop at your own pace.

We'll head back together later in the day if you’d like, or you're welcome to stay longer and make your own way home.

• Penarth is also home to some lovely food spots and a beach! So you can really make it a full day affair.

Accessibility:

• The walk between the charity shops is short, with all shops located within approximately minutes of each other. Please note that accessibility may vary between individual shops.

• This event is open to UWTSD students.
• Students are responsible for purchasing their own train ticket.
• Please arrive on time so we can travel together.
• Please act responsibly and be respectful of shop staff and other customers at all times.
