Welsh campuses are currently on summer break, this means that usual student group activity is not running at this time and the committee are off enjoying a well deserved holiday. Student group activity will resume on the W/C 21st of September 2026. Memberships for 2026-27 will also be available then, for now if you would like to be contacted by the committee when they are back, click 'join this group' and get an 'I am interested in being a member' option.

Welcome to UWTSD Swansea Film Society!
UWTSD Swansea Film Society hosts weekly film screenings during term-time in the Dylan Thomas Centre's cinema space. Anyone is welcome to join, and a membership covers access to all our film screenings, events and socials for the year.
Our film screenings take place every Wednesday between 4-8pm in the Dylan Thomas Centre's cinema space on the first floor. Post-film socials take place after each screening at the Queens Hotel pub, a 2 minute walk from the DTC.
Membership Details
A film society membership allows you to attend all of our film screenings, events and socials for 2026-27 (Sept-Aug). Anyone is welcome to join as a member, whether you're a student or not!

Why should I join?

Exciting and engaging film screenings: We screen films that may not get shown on the big screen very often, aiming to show a range of films from classics to cult-classics to obscure gems.

Friendly and welcoming: We welcome anyone with a love for film to join, and aim to provide a sociable space to make new friends and talk about all things film.

Affordable membership: it costs just £7 for UWTSD students or £10 for non-students for an annual membership, meaning you get to see a bunch of great films for around the price of a cinema ticket!

Inspiring and informative: Our sessions offer members inspiration for their own creative practices and research through engagement and discussion.

Group cinema visits: besides from our weekly film screenings, we'll also occasionally visit local cinemas to watch new releases & one-off screenings.
