For many, university is the first time we are on our own and expected to look after ourselves. This can bring up its own issues surrounding health and well being. I propose that the SU provides better all round education regarding self care.

The council resolves that the Students’ Union provide a talk/talks during freshers induction to cover the following topics: 

Sex Education - how to have safe sex (including bystander training), and generally a more comprehensive guide to sex education. 

Personal Care - this includes basic self care, such as cooking, washing clothing, and personal hygiene. 

Responsible Drinking - providing education on responsible drinking. This would include more information about the body’s processing of alcohol and how to safely handle its intake (eg. Prevention of drunk driving).
