Category: Student Support
An unfortunate circumstance a couple of week ago led to the devastating passing of Corey Sharpling. Corey was a energetic, hardworking individual who was the son of one of our loved academic lecturers Elaine Sharpling.
In honour of Corey and to show support to Elaine and her family at this devastating time, some of the students on the BA Primary Education with QTS course and myself propose that an award at the SU awards to be named after Corey. We think that this award should go to a hardworking trainee teacher, who engages positively in lectures, goes beyond expectations and engages within a wide range of university activities.
The aim of this idea is to show the support as a university and student union to Elaine and her family. It will also ensure that Corey’s life is celebrated and remembered by everyone.
I hope this is something that we can all support.
Thank you.
