I am proposing and updated to the title of LGBT+ Officers (both Open and Women Space) to put Queer part in the title so it reeds as LGBTQ+ officers (both Open and Women Space), as that is becoming a more standard why of refering to the community and showing that queer community in the title. when i talk about queer i am refering the term that used by those wanting to reject specific labels of romantic orientation, sexual orientation and/or gender identity. It can also be a way of rejecting the perceived norms of the LGBT community (racism, sizeism, ableism etc). Although some LGBT people view the word as a slur, it was reclaimed in the late 80s by the queer community who have embraced it (stonewall 2021). as this is a big part of the cominity and i think we should put them more on display in the PTO officers title how will be repsenting that in student council.
