Paid Student Representative Roles

We’re looking for eighteen students who want to play an active part in the student community and ensure that students are getting what they want out of their time as a student at UWTSD. These eighteen students will be our Student Voice Reps for the 2023/24 academic year, speaking on behalf of students across all UWTSD campuses and courses, and voicing student concerns and ideas with senior university staff. These representatives ensure that students’ experiences and views are an integral part of the workings of the University.

The Student Voice Rep role is a step up from the Course Rep role and not one of the roles available via the Students Union elections. The Student Voice Reps communicate with Course Reps regularly, to gain an insight into students’ experiences in and outside of the classroom, and get involved in projects within the Students’ Union and the University to continually improve things for students. In recognition of the time and commitment required of the Student Voice Reps, we pay these representatives a bursary of £450 and support their personal development – job references can also be provided.

Applications are open now for all Student Voice Rep positions. If you enjoy meeting new people and are open to developing your communication and organisation skills, and valuable experience for the workplace, we encourage you to read more about the role and apply! This role is specifically aimed at those that have already been course reps, but if you have some experience in representation, please do apply!

This role would be a great fit for you if:

  • You want students to have a great experience whilst studying with UWTSD.
  • You are open to engaging with a diverse student body.
  • You want to develop your skills and gain valuable experience to enhance your employability.
  • You can commit to dedicating time regularly to the role.
