Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to reintroduce the Advice Team – your go-to source for support with all things academic and university-related.
Whether you’ve been with us for a while or you’re just discovering what we do, here’s a roundup of everything we’ve launched so far, and what’s coming next!
We kicked things off with the “Your Advice Service” blog, where we shared a short video with Sophie and Alice, some of the friendly faces behind your Advice Team. This was our way of saying “hi again!” and giving you a quick update on what the Advice Service is and how they can help you throughout your time at university.
Next, you might have seen our weekly videos on our Instagram @uwtsdunion that broke down key university processes, from academic misconduct to appeals, complaints, and extenuating circumstances. We went through what they are, how they work and what you can do if you find yourself in one of these situations.
And if you missed them on our Instagram, don’t worry – we’ve now compiled all the videos into one, which you can find below.
We’re not done yet! This May, we’re launching Mythbusting May - where we’ll be tackling common misconceptions about the Advice Service and university processes.
Think you know how our Advice Service works? - We’ll be asking 'true or false' questions on our Instagram and displaying them on TV banners around campus to help test your knowledge and help you get more familiar with university processes and the Advice Service.
You will be able to find us at a pop-up on our London and Birmingham campuses for the release of results.
We will be there to help you navigate the next steps after you have received your results; come say hi, find out what support is available and meet the team.
Birmingham Pop-Ups: 14 and 17 May.
London Pop-Ups: 9, 12 and 14 June
We will be posting updates around support available on our socials throughout the release of results.
Whether you’ve already been in touch with us or are just hearing about us now, our Advice Service is always free, independent and confidential, and our team is on hand to ensure you have the right information to make informed decisions.
A part of this is our advice hub, where we create and post resources for academic advice and topics beyond academic advice.
We have just added 2 new resources to help you understand some of the university departments and some of the language you may come across while at university
