What have our Presidents and Officers ever done for you? Quite frankly - they've done tons - whether you know it or not, and we couldn't be more proud of them (you can check out our top picks below).
 
We're looking for students to become our Presidents, Part-Time Officers, Student Trustees, and Union Chairperson for 2024/25 - and there's still time to nominate yourself (just)!

Top President & Officer Wins

• Secured £50,000 in funding for student mental health
• Help raised over £8,500 for Cardiac Risk in the Young
• Secure free student access to the well-being service Togetherall
• Made sure Student ID name changes are free
• Worked with the University to switch on pronouns in Microsoft Teams
• Secured free extended access to Microsoft 365 for graduates
• Declared a joint climate crisis with the University
• They wrote to MPs and MSs about the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on students
• They helped students plant over 1,000 trees
• They helped clean miles of coastline with several beach cleans
• Represented student opinions on the cost-of-living crisis to the BBC
• Agreed on a rent freeze with university accommodation for 2024/24
• Helped students access free sanitary products and contraception across all campuses

 
Presidents' roles are full-time with a salary of £21,840 (+£3,000 London Weighting Allowance if based in London).
 
Part-time Officers, Student Trustees, and the Union Chairperson are all part-time and voluntary.
