Tips for Stallholders
Whether you've already booked on as a stallholder or are thinking about getting involved, we've put together some useful pointers to make the most of the day.
Things to bring
- Promotional materials (flyers, posters, business cards).
- Freebies and merchandise (students love useful giveaways!).
- Sign-up sheets or tablets for collecting contact details.
- A tablecloth or branded banner to make your stall stand out.
- Extension cables and chargers if using electronic devices - note we cannot guarantee power for all stalls.
- Bring refreshments with you.
Be attention-grabbing
- Use bold colours, clear signage, and interactive displays.
- Consider banners to make your stall visible from a distance.
Be approachable
- Smile and greet students as they walk past.
- Avoid sitting behind your table—stand and engage.
Offer incentives
- Students love freebies - branded stationery, tote bags, snacks, or prize draws work well.
- If collecting contact details, offer an incentive (e.g. “Sign up for a chance to win!”) - make sure you comply with GDPR.
Be digital, be relevant
- If you’re gathering sign-ups, use a QR code for social media links or mailing list sign-ups.
- Tailor your pitch to student needs and interests.
- Highlight benefits like discounts, career opportunities, or fun events.
