Description

Join "Lead this Group" to help us get this society up and running again.

What was the vibe of this group?

UWTSD Pole Fitness were a group offering a unique experience to try out something new in a fun alternative way to improve physical strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination. They were a tight diverse community of all genders and orientations who supported each other and helped to create an active social environment between students of different disciplines.

Members of the Pole Fitness sports club were referred to as Polerinas - defined as:
“Someone who dances using a pole, using all forms of dance background to compose a dance piece that uses strength and beauty.” - Urban Dictionary.
Thier classes were run purely for fitness; there was aches and bruising (but they said it was worth it!)

What activity did they run?

Pole fitness.

Where did they run activity?

This group held sessions weekly at Swansea Pole and Aerial Academy, they built a relationship with the owners in order to get discounted classes for students at UWTSD.

Did they run socials?

This group often got together for social on Wind Street and also went to other societies social events. They greatly suppoted Students' Union events also such as Freshers events where they held tasters and attended other events to meet more potential members.

Did they run trips?

This group didnt run any trips outside of thier usual activity but we would be interested to hear from future committee about ideas they would have.

We thought maybe a trip to appreciate other artistic sports at an acrobats show could be fun.
