What was the vibe of this group?
TSD Snowsports society was a long running group that opened it's doors to anyone, aiming to introduce people to an exciting and unique sport, where they could meet other like-minded people and continually develop their skills and in turn, maintain a healthy mind and body. They wanted to provide a platform for people who had skied and boarded before to continue to develop their skills and love of the sport.
They also aimed to foster a community of like-minded people where they could discuss environmental ideas, share thier knowledge and showcase the natural environments around the Swansea area.
What activity did they run?
They held fortnighly ski and snowboard sessions.
Where did they run activity?
Pembrey Country Park ski slope.
Did they run socials?
Yes, this group ran plenty of club night socials and actually had sponsorships with local bars where their student members recieved discounts etc. They did pub golf, dj nights and parties even doing a party at the Carmarthen campus to try and expand the society across campuses. At the end of the academic year, the group often did tobogganing to have some last minute fun at Pembrey!
Did they run trips?
This group ran ski and snowboarding trips in Cardiff ski slope, Tamworth Snowdome and also went abroad twice to France!
