UWTSD Pole Fitness is a brand-new group offering a unique experience to try out something new in a fun alternative way to improve physical strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination. We are a tight diverse community of all genders and orientations who are here to support each other and create an active social environment between students of different disciplines.
Members of the Pole Fitness sports club can be referred to as Polerinas - defined as:
“Someone who dances using a pole, using all forms of dance background to compose a dance piece that uses strength and beauty.” - Urban Dictionary.
Classes are run purely for fitness; there will be aches and bruising (but it’s worth it!)
To take part in this society you do not require any previous sporting history or strength, just the right attitude, and bravery to try something extraordinary.
The following video is of our past President, Taylor, she has been a committed Polerina for over 5-years and demonstrates some beginner to intermediate level moves.
Give It a Go class do not require a membership and are only £4 for anyone to attend, just give it a go and meet the group.

There will be a membership fee to join the group and insure you under the Students' Union insurance.
