When requesting library books it can take up to two weeks, in certain conditions even longer to be able to get the book you need and whilst this did work with the old system the new system with a tighter time schedule means by the time you get the book you requested you're either halfway through your module or almost finished and completed several assignments already. Whereas if the request time was shorter, say 3 - 5 days you'd get the books within a timely manner to use on a majority of your assignments within a given module too.

I understand the theory and agree the time should be shortened. But if a person has the book out on loan, it may not be convenient for them to get it back to the library within 3 days. It's fine for people living on campus, but for students who live off campus and juggle jobs and other commitments, 3 days may be cutting it a bit short. 5-7 days is more of a middle ground in my opinion.
