Council believes

It is important to install sufficient lighting on the riverside walkway from SA1 Fforum to the student carpark, and within the SA1 campus in general.

At present, students who are staying late into the early evening are having to walk to their cars without sufficient lighting leaving them feeling vulnerable and there are concerns for personal safety.

Some student have even gone as far as to carry with them personal safety alarms for the late night walk to their cars, or assign a buddy to walk with.

Council resolves

TSDSU to lobby the university to install sufficient lighting along the riverside walkway from SA1 Fforum to the student car park, and within the general SA1 campus.

TSDSU should oppose any ideas or alternative solutions to this issue for the implications of safety.
